Mindfulness - Based Stress Reduction for Caregivers
Are you caring for a loved one?
As a caregiver or family member, you may be experiencing high levels of stress which can be associated with physical and emotional health problems.
Our mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) curriculum is based on Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn's program at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. This behavioural medicine program is designed to teach effective methods of coping with stress in order to allow individuals to improve their own health and well-being.
Mindfulness is a non-judgmental way of paying attention in the present moment and may increase the ability to accept that which cannot be changed, reduce emotional reactivity, and reduce negative thinking.
Through training in mindfulness mediation and gentle mindful movement, you will learn how to use your innate resources and abilities to respond to stress more effectively and with greater calm and clarity.
