Still Alice – should have considered a clinical treatment study.

Still Alice – could have benefited from participation in a clinical study.

The recently released, highly acclaimed movie Still Alice portrays the debilitating impact of Alzheimer’s disease on Alice Howland, played by Julianna Moore. The movie plot follows Alice as she develops early-onset Alzheimer's disease which progressively robs her of her cognitive abilities. She struggles to maintain a productive life while reaching out to others to educate them about her illness.

Unfortunately, millions of individuals are suffering the same fate as Alice. Toronto Memory Program offers an opportunity to fight back by participating in a clinical treatment study. Not only are patients receiving closer monitoring of their condition, but their families also receive extra support and education. These patients are Medical Heroes who bring hope to finding better treatments for the future and changing the course of this disease.
